My music technology project consisted of a music business portfolio, which was made up of 4 parts:
- My work with George Chapman
- My work with Lewis Hazlehurst
- My live event
- My EP release
With George Chapman, I produced, recorded and mixed a track, which is unreleased. I also commissioned the master for this track and worked with George to develop a network of social media accounts.
With Lewis Hazlehurst, I created a social media plan to allow him to increase his following and develop more content, which took the form of a written document. To develop this, we met up and discussed Lewis' current social media situation and how it could be improved. this gave me the opportunity to research social media strategy and how this can be tailored to the needs of an individual.
I organised the 'Bungalow Bash' event at Bungalows and Bears, on Division Street in Sheffield on 2nd June 2023. The line-up consisted of Searching for Lil, The Coltens and Turning June, who stepped in at the last minute when 2 other bands dropped out the day before the gig. This was a great opportunity to see behind the scenes of a small music event, and taught me prioritisation, organisation, speaking directly to people, troubleshooting/dealing with problems and was a great opportunity for me to network.
I released my EP 'Unit 4' (available on Bandcamp and other major platforms), which consisted of 4 tracks (and a bonus track only on Bandcamp). I organised a listening party which included some of my friends at my house and Bandcamp's new Listening Party feature. This allowed me to see the process of releasing music and following statistics gathered by the various DSPs.
